The most visible and lasting impression provided by the Honor Guard is the honors given to the deceased who have honorably served their community and nation. The honors given at a memorial service provide not only a final tribute to the deceased, but also a soothing and healing time of remembrance for the families and friends. The mission of the South Snohomish County Honor Guard is to provide a specially trained team that will serve as the formal representatives for the Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Mountlake Terrace, and Mukilteo Police Departments during ceremonial occasions. Team members shall render honors, instill pride, preserve tradition, and stimulate Esprit-de-Corps while conducting themselves in a manner that reflects pride, honor, courage, and duty. Officers of the Honor Guard are committed to representing their agency’s and their law enforcement family, both locally and nationally.
